This is the kitchen dispatch. It’s approximately a monthly newsletter, though frequency may increase whenever I get my act together (I sing the ancient song of too much to do in too little time). This is where I’ll be sharing updates on new videos, recipes, recommendations, upcoming events, and other food writing as I see fit.
Who am I? I’m Emily Duncan. I’m a writer and comedian best known as a home cook on Epicurious’ YouTube channel. (I also have my own channel, No Expert, which I’d be over the moon if you checked out.)
Why a newsletter? I love to cook, eat, and talk food. I’m not an expert (see what I did there?), but I’m always learning. As I learn new things, I though it might be fun to try to pass along some of that newfound wisdom to you. We could talk about the origins of Absinthe (did you know wormwood-infused wine dates back thousands of years?), how to open an 80 pound wheel of cheese (with vigor), or recipe testing butter tarts (my latest adventure).
Why subscribe? We’ll have fun, we’ll laugh, we’ll talk food – oh, the times we’ll have – and hey, maybe you’ll learn something too. (Or you could just subscribe because you want an easy way to know when I have a new video out on No Expert or Epicurious, that works too.)
